We Flipped This School - Showcase

This is the finale of the Committee on Social Equity's four-week series of events focused on the legacies of imperialism and decolonization. Our showcase features several exciting presentations, a make and take craft workshop, and open MIC opportunities for students.

10:00 – Spoken Word Poetry by TravisT & Destiny Sharion from the HI Poets Society.
11:15-12:00 & 1:30-2:00 – Open MIC opportunity. Raise your voice. Dance. Play music
11:30- 1:00 – Welaweka & False Wiliwili Seed Earrings. A free make and take workshop with Isaiah Smith.
12:00 – Mele Wanana: Prophetic Chants that Prophesied Change in Hawaiʻi. A presentation of hula & oli featuring Kumu Kalani, Kumu Kimo, & HCC students.
1:00 – Loli Ka Lole: Historical Changes in Dress. A presentation featuring Kaʻanoʻi Akaka
