Distinguished Speaker Series: Anne Keala Kelly

Award-winning film maker, Anne Keala Kelly launches the 2012 - 2013 Hālau ʻIke o Puʻuloa Distinguished Speaker Series on October 5.
The session starts with a free film screening of "Noho Hewa: the Wrongful Occupation of Hawaiʻi" followed by Kelly offering her manaʻo on "Kuleana Journalism and film-making: the importance of independent journalism and film by and for Hawaiians."
Anne Keala Kelly is an award winning Native Hawaiian filmmaker and journalist. Her areas of expertise are politics, culture and the environment, with a focus on Hawaii and Native Hawaiians. She has been a keynote speaker and a panel participant at conferences, and is a recipient of the 2012 Fund for Investigative Journalism grant.
