College of Education 18th Annual Recognition Dinner

Join Interim President David McClain and Dean Randy Hitz at the College of Education's 18th annual Recognition Dinner. No-host cocktails begin at 5:30 p.m., dinner/program starts at 6:30 p.m. This year College of Education celebrates "Education in a Democracy" by presenting awards to seven individuals who have made significant contributions to education, and they are deeply honored to have U.S. Senator Daniel K. Akaka give the keynote address and Larry Price is their master of ceremonies for the evening.

Presentation of awards include:
Award of Distinction - Gail Awakuni, Campbell High School, and Valorie Johnson, Kellogg Foundation.

Award of Excellence in Media - Jerry Burris, Honolulu Advertiser.

Award of Excellence -Alfred Castle, Castle Foundation, State Senator Norman Sakamoto, and State Representative Roy Takumi.

COE Alumni Association Distinguished Alumni Award - Janet Ishikawa-Fullmer.
