Summer Workshops on Preservation Planning and Exhibition

Exhibition Design for Museums, Galleries, and Related Sites with Tom Klobe. Discover important design principles, installation techniques, and exhibition concepts through this two-day workshop featuring slide lectures, hands-on assignments and a field trip to a local museum. Participants explore how to analyze the needs and resources of small and large exhibition spaces, and find innovative ways to excite and engage visitors.
Topics include:
1. Principles of Design (and Elements of Form) for exhibition design
2. Analysis of needs and resources
3. Installation techniques
4. Exhibition concepts
5. Review of exhibitions (slide lecture)
6. Hands-on, in-class assignments
7. Fieldtrip to a local museum
Limited enrollment.
