Parau Hotu: Gender, Genres and Fertile Words in Contemporary Tahitian Literature

ENGLISH DEPARTMENT COLLOQUIUM SERIES. A presentation in conjunction with the launch of Varua Tupu: New Writing from French Polynesia. This is the first book-length collection of contemporary fiction, poetry, memoir, and essays in English translations from French Polynesia's indigenous authors. Varua Tupu is published by Manoa: A Pacific Journal and the University of Hawai'i Press.
This colloquium is co-sponsored by the Pacific Writers' Connection, the Center for Pacific Islands Studies, Manoa: A Pacific Journal, and the UHM English Department Fall Festival of Writers.
