Gary Pak "Researching My Novel in Korea"
October 19, 3:00pm - 4:15pmManoa Campus, Kuykendall 410
The Department of English Colloquium Series Presents: Gary Pak "Researching My Novel in Korea." In the summer of 2005, at the start of his sabbatical, Gary Pak traveled the length and breadth of the South Korean peninsula--climbing one of Korea's highest mountains, cloistering himself in Ewha University's library, visiting museums and several Buddhist monasteries--for his research on a proposed historical novel of Korea.
As beginning results, he wrote the first part of a long narrative poem on Jingu, a 5th-century horse-riding woman warrior of Buyeo; and began a novel on the Korean War.
