LGBTI Film Series: "QUEENS/Reinas"

Coming soon to theaters, "QUEENS" is the second film in the LGBTI Film Series co-sponsored by the Honolulu Gay & Lesbian Cultural Foundation, here! Television Network and the University of Hawaii at Manoa LGBTI Student Services.

"QUEENS/Reinas" is a whimsical, contemporary ensemble comedy that stars five of Spain's most celebrated and beloved actresses as mothers preparing for the marriages of their sons during Spain's first-ever gay wedding en masse. As these very different mothers deal with their own desires, prejudices and history, the high jinks and mahem unfold in a hilarious clash of sex, anger, bigotry, and love throughout the weekend. With the "I DO's " pending, will the hearts of the Queens find the strength and the love to give their sons away on their special day?

Doors will open at 7:00 pm with the film starting at 7:30 pm. $5 donations can be accepted at the door to support LGBTI students at UH Manoa.

"QUEENS" is the second film being presented in a joint venture with the Honolulu Gay & Lesbian Cultural Foundation’s outreach program whose mission is to educate and raise awareness of the community at large about gay and lesbian culture, arts and lifestyles; to instill a sense of pride and respect among the members of the gay community; and to highlight the unique cosmopolitan ambiance of the city of Honolulu.
