Anakbayan Honolulu One-Year Celebration

November 30, 7:00pm - 9:00pm
Manoa Campus, UH Manoa Art Auditorium

Anakbayan Honolulu, a grassroots youth and student collective, celebrates one year of political activism in the Filipino community, campaigning against civil and human rights violations in the Philippines and worldwide, and commemorates the birthdate of Filipino revolutionary leader Andres Bonifacio, who struggled valiantly against foreign occupation in the late nineteenth century.

Students, faculty, and all members of the community are invited to enjoy a night of song, dance, poetry performace, food, and discussion--regarding the historical struggles and triumphs of Filipino activism, and the implications of this upon our circumstances in the global community, as we continue to navigate the continued campaign for Philippine sovereignty and universal social justice.
