A Concert with Cellist Mineo Hayashi

University of Hawai'i at Manoa presents A Concert with Cellist Mineo Hayashi. Since 1976, Hayashi has been based primarily in Switzerland from where he travels all over the world to give cello concerts. This performance is Hayashi's second at the University of Hawai'i at Manoa. He is accompanied by local pianist Jennifer Perry.

University of Hawai'i at Manoa presents A Concert with Cellist Mineo Hayashi. Hayashi studied with Yoshio Sato, the first Japanese pupil of Pablo Casals and later entered the Toho School of Music where he studied under Hideo Saito. Afterwards he continued his musical studies at the Geneva Conservatoire de Musique where he obtained a first prize at graduation in 1972.

Since 1976 he has been based primarily in Switzerland from where he travels all over the world to give cello concerts. In addition, he is the director of the Suzuki Method School and a professor at the International Academy of Suzuki Method. This performance is Hayashi's second at the University of Hawai'i at Manoa. He is accompanied by local pianist Jennifer Perry.

Perry completed her Masters in Music in piano performance, chamber music and accompanying from the University of Colorado. She has taught privately and performed in various chamber music, opera, choral and musical theater settings, and with various individual artists both locally and in Colorado, Oregon and Florida.
