Melissa L. Finucane

Melissa L. Finucane is a Senior Research Investigator at the Pacific Center for Health Research Hawaii. Dr. Finucane research interest is in understanding human decision making and risk perception/communication at both individual and societal levels and aims to do original and innovative research that informs policymaking in public and private agencies that deal with decision making under conditions of risk and uncertainty. Dr. Finucane received her M.Psych and Ph.D in Psychology from the University of Western Australia.

Dr. Finucane is the author and co-author of numerous journal articles and book chapters. Some of the journals she has published in include: Health Affairs; Health, Risk, and Society; Journal of Behavioral Decision Making; Journal of Environmental Management; Journal of Risk Research; Journal of Socio-Economics; Psychology and Aging; Risk Analysis; Social Science and Medicine; and The Contemporary Pacific.
