Thomas Webler is Core Faculty in the Department of Environmental Studies at Antioch University New England. Dr. Webler's research centers around the question: How can scientific expertise and democratic deliberation be integrated in collaborative policymaking processes around environmental and risk management decisions? Dr. Webler received his Ph.D in Environment, Technology, and Society from Clark University.


Dr. Webler currently has a Fulbright Teaching Fellowship in the India Program and was a Visiting Fellow at the Breuninger Foundation in Stuttgart, Germany. Dr. Webler is the author, co-author, and editor of numerous books, journal articles, technical reports, conference papers, and other publications. Some of his publications include Fair and Competent Citizen Participation: Evaluation New Models for Environmental Discourse, with coeditors O. Renn and P. Wiedemann (1995); and "Theories of Cooperation," in E. Messow (ed.) The Wasan Project (2007); and "Beyond Science: Deliberation and Analysis in Public Decision Making," in Human Ecology Review (1998).
