Doors Open! - Sociology Open House

The last Tuesday of every month is an open house event in the Department of Sociology maximizing just one of many opportunities for faculty and students to interact with one another.

The socialization of new professionals requires engaged mentoring. Faculty and student interaction builds collegiate networks, the social capital necessary for career success. New professionals learn the values and social discourse of the discipline, obtain encouragement and support in their personal and professional life, and draw many benefits interacting with international colleagues. It is not enough to hide away in academic research locked in an office or corner of the library!

Undergraduate sociology majors are also encouraged to come to the Department of Sociology when office doors are open. Once a month undergraduates can now access faculty, graduate students, and staff to ask questions about their courses and career objectives.
