ASA Conference in New York-Graduate Student Debriefing

UHM Sociology students and faculty talk about the 2007 American Sociological Association (ASA)102nd Annual Meeting, which took place in New York City, August 11-14.
The theme: "Is Another World Possible?" Former Chilean President Ricardo Lagos gave the opening address, and Congressman John Conyers, Jr. (D-MI) led a session on the future of American politics.
Presenters will discuss the submission, review, and acceptance process for a large academic conference, as well as the experience of joining over 6,000 scholars from around the world to share ideas and research. This conference featured more than 600 sociological sessions and panels.
Bring your lunch and join us for this informal meeting led by UH Manoa graduate student delegates.
