Edward Seidensticker: Retrospective
September 14, 4:00pm - 6:00pmManoa Campus, Moore 319 (Tokioka Room)
It has always been hard to imagine what the field of Japanese studies in the United States would be without Professor Ed Seidensticker. Sadly, with Professor Seidensticker's recent passing, the question is no longer hypothetical. The Center for Japanese Studies and the Department of East Asian Languages and Literatures will sponsor a special CJS Seminar to reflect on the profound impact Ed had on our field and our lives. It will be an opportunity to review his important contributions as a translator and scholar of Japanese literature, and to share our memories of him.
Parking is available after 4:00 pm on Upper Campus for $3. Refreshments will be served.
