An Evening with Minnijean Brown Trickey and Friends

The UH School of Social Work is hosting an evening with Minnijean Brown Trickey, one of the "Little Rock Nine," a group of nine African American students who were the first to test the Brown vs. Board of Education Supreme Court Decision integrating schools in the South. Her courage is underscored in the documentary Journey to Little Rock: the Untold Story of Minnijean Brown Trickey.
She has been featured in People Magazine, Newsweek, the Ottawa Citizen, the BBC, the CBC, Phil Donohue, and others too many to list here. She also appeared with the other students on Oprah and the Today Show.
Other panelists include Dr. Ann Levett of Yale University, Dr. Amy Agbayani, Dr. Peter Mataira, and the Rev. Dr. Kaleo Patterson of UH.
