This panel aims to analyze constructions of national identity and citizenship through a discussion of language, issues of translation, and migration policy. Cheryl Naruse examines how Singapore’s national anthem Majulah Singapura constructs its citizens, while Lorenzo Rinelli investigates the outsourcing of European migration control, and Carmen Nolte explores TurkHop in Germany as a political tool of resistance
