Domestic Violence Awareness Month Fair
October 6, 11:00pm - 2:00pmManoa Campus, Campus Center Mall
October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month (DVAM). Each year, 1 in 3 women experience violence perpetrated by their intimate partners. This year Hawaii has seen 5 lives lost because of domestic violence.
The Women's Center in partnership with the PAU Violence Program and the UH System Sexual Violence Prevention Project invites you to participate in the Domestic Violence Awareness Month Clothesline Project and Resource Fair. On Tuesday, October 6 from 11:00am - 2:00pm t-shirts decorated by survivors of domestic violence will be on display at Campus Center. All are welcome to participate in this event by decorating paper t-shirts to share their stories in hopes that all who view the Clothesline will be aware of how many lives are affected by domestic violence.
Community service agencies and offices on campus will also be there to share information about their services for those experiencing domestic/dating violence or for those wanting to help friends or family in a domestic/dating violence situation.
