A Conversation with Jon Shirota
November 13, 7:00pm - 9:00pmKapi'olani Campus, Ohia Building
Kicking off Kapi'olani CC's International Education Week, this celebratory event features a reading by Jon Shirota of his award-winning work. In addition, there will be performances of Okinawan music and dance by noted performers, and Shirota will sign copies of Voices From Okinawa: Featuring Three Plays by Jon Shirota.
Forms to pre-order the new edition of Shirota's 1965 bestselling novel, Lucky Come Hawai'i, will also be available at the event. The novel will be reissued in December by Manoa: A Pacific Journal of International Writing and University of Hawai‘i Press.
