Visiting Artist Chiyoji Asahara Lecture

The UHM Department of Art and Art History is pleased to announce glass artist Chiyoji Asahara's visit from November 1 to 5, 2010.

Asahara taught at Osaka Art University in 1971 and went on to establish a glass studio in Otaru, Hokkaido. His work has received national recognitions at the Tokyo National Contemporary Art Museum and the Kyoto National Contemporary Art Museum.

Asahara will present a public lecture on his work on November 1 at 7pm in the Art auditorium room 132. He will also be conducting daily glass blowing demonstrations at the glass studio from Monday, November 1 to Friday, November 5.
