World Town Planning Day is celebrated in 30 countries on four continents every November. It is a special day to recognize and promote the role of planning in creating livable communities. World Town Planning Day presents an excellent opportunity to look at planning challenges and solutions in communities around the globe.

UH Mānoa’s Department of Urban and Regional Planning is celebrating World Town Planning Day on November 5 with special presentations on planning issues for livable ciites. Also, awards will be presented: Khaleda Rashid for the Dinell Outstanding Alumni Award and to Peter Rappa and Shabbir Cheema as Planners Who Have Made a Difference. The Hawai‘i Chapter of the American Planning Association is cosponsoring the event.
