Roundtable Discussion featuring Robert Guild, director for Pacific Strategy and Special Operations, Asian Development Bank
Dr. Robert Guild is the director for Pacific Strategy and Special Operations with the Asian Development Bank's (ADB) Pacific Department. He oversees ADB programming, technical assistance, finance of investments, and policy advice across the Pacific region. He also serves as the ADB Pacific Department Director for Transport, Energy, and Natural Resources.
Dr. Guild is an expert on infrastructure investment for social and economic development, and has advised governments, the private sector, and multilateral institutions in Latin America, Asia, and the Pacific on public investments and national and regional development plans.
Prior to joining the ADB, Dr. Guild led the economic infrastructure program at the Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat, an intergovernmental organization of the 14 independent island nations of the Pacific region, based in Suva, Fiji. He has taught at universities in the United States, New Zealand, and the Pacific region and holds degrees in civil engineering, public administration, urban and regional planning, and international planning and development. He started his career in the Pacific as a Peace Corps volunteer in Solomon Islands.
