CRL Global Resources: Collections and Services

A lecture by James Simon, Center for Research Libraries

James Simon will present an overview of the Center for Research Libraries, its collections and services, and cooperative programs developed over six decades of partnership with academic research libraries. He will discuss CRL's evolving role in the electronic age and how it is supporting collection management at its member institutions.

James Simon is director of International Resources at CRL. He is also the director of the Global Resources Network, a collaborative initiative of the major North American universities and research libraries to promote the widespread availability and exchange of knowledge and source materials for international studies. Simon is responsible for the coordination of such programs as the World Newspaper Archive, the Digital South Asia Library, the International Coalition on Newspapers and the Area Microform Projects of the Center. Prior to his appointment in 1998, Simon worked in Washington, DC for the International Research and Exchanges Board where he was program officer for scholarly exchanges and cooperative partnerships with Russian and Slavic organizations.
