Ooctober 1: Opening reception of the Filipino-American Historical Society of Hawaii's commemoration of Filipino American History Month (October). Welcome addresses and display of "Philippine Komiks: Creating and Reflecting Filipino Sensibilities" -- an exhibit by the UHM Office of Multicultural Student Services (exhibited through Oct. 30).

Performances by the Silangan Singers, the Tekniqlingz Dance Crew and Philippine Consul Paul Cortez.

October 8: Genealogy presentation by Bryan Quisquirin.

October 16: "Anak" Festival at the Children's Discovery Center, presented by the Filipino Association of University Women.

October 22: "Life of Dr. Jose Rizal." Panel discussion with Raymund Liongson, Serafin Colmenares, Jr., and Ruth Mabanglo, with Vina Lanzona, moderator.

Co-sponsored by the UHM Office of Multicultural Student Services, the Friends of the Library of Hawaii, with funding from the Hawaii Council for the Humanities.
