October 25, 6:30pm - 8:00pm
Mānoa Campus, Center for Korean Studies Auditorium Add to Calendar

The East Asian Film Society is pleased to announce our lineup of films for the Fall 2011 semester. We will be featuring the 1960s work of controversial Japanese independent director Koji Wakamatsu.

Starting with the 1965 film Secrets from Behind the Wall, which brought him international attention after a controversial screening at the Berlin International Film Festival, and ending with the 1969 film Season of Terror, this film series will look at some of the highlights of his prolific work in the 1960s. Mixing sex, violence, Leftist politics, and avante grade film technique in equal measures, these films remain shocking and vital over 40 years after their initial releases.

The fourth film in the series will be the 1969 film Running in Madness, Dying in Love.
