The Music of Lou Harrison

The UH Contemporary Music Ensemble presents an evening dedicated to the music of American composer Lou Harrison (1917-2003), a visionary figure of the Twentieth Century who helped bridge the divide between Asia and the West.

On the program is his Trio for violin, viola and cello; First Concerto for flute and percussion; Varied Trio for violin, piano and percussion, and other works.

Two guest artists will join the ensemble for this concert: Guitarist Luke Trimble will perform Harrison's Serenade, and violinist Helen Liu will be featured on Concerto in Slendro.
