How do I Present or Evaluate Digital Work in a Tenure and Promotion Dossier?

April 24, 12:00pm - 2:00pm
Mānoa Campus, Kuykendall 106 Events Room and Gallery Add to Calendar

Digital media presents rich new opportunities for scholarly communication, teaching, and service, including:
-Online work: e.g. blogs, vlogs, web reviews
-Digital collections
-Scholarly electronic editions
-New research tools & information technology
-Mixed-media/-platform/-genre academic work

However, not all faculty know how to present their digital work effectively, during the tenure and promotion process. Also, faculty on DPCs/TPRCs may lack appropriate evaluation tools to assess digital work fairly.

This interactive workshop, led by experienced faculty, will explore ways to introduce and evaluate the changing forms of digital media scholarship.

Discuss and brainstorm valid assessment methods for several new practices of scholarly communication, such as--

-Multiple versions of the same work
-Collaborative or multiply authored work
-Challenging/new technical aspects
-Innovative modes of peer review, e.g. an open review process
