Seawater air conditioning public meeting

July 26, 7:00pm - 9:00pm
Waikiki Community Center, Auditorium 325, 310 Paoakalani Avenue, Honolulu Add to Calendar

For large buildings and hotels, particularly in tropical climates, air conditioning represents the single major source of energy demand. Forty-two percent of typical Hawai‘i hotel energy consumption goes toward AC.

Fortunately there are emerging energy efficiency technologies that can significantly reduce energy demand for large buildings and hotels. On Thursday, July 26th from 7:00pm - 9:00pm researchers from the University of Hawai‘i at Manoa will be holding a meeting to engage the public in a discussion about the potential for using seawater air conditioning to improve energy efficiency in Waikiki.

The event, presented by the University of Hawai‘i Sea Grant College Program and Center for Sustainable Coastal Tourism, is free and open to the public.
