Framing Paradise opening events

The public is invited to attend the opening events held in conjunction with the exhibition "Framing Paradise: Photography and Waikīkī" at the University of Hawai'i Art Gallery.

This exhibition explores some of the ways in which Waikīkī has been recorded through the lens from the 19th to the 21st century. "Framing Paradise" invites the viewer to investigate Waikīkī’s history and its genesis as an icon of tourism and one of photography’s quintessential subjects. Portfolios by Daido Moriyama and Eric Yanagi as well as archival works are featured.

2:30-3:00 Walk-through of exhibition led by Curator Wei Fang.

3:00-5:00 Opening reception.
