3rd Annual Hawai'i Undergraduate Philosophy Conference

The University of Hawai‘i – West O‘ahu will host the 3rd Annual Hawai‘i Undergraduate Philosophy Conference on Feb. 23 from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. in C225 at the university’s Campus Center. Undergraduate students from across the state will present papers on philosophical topics with awards given to the best conference paper and best conference presentation.

Distinguished Visiting Scholar Dr. Ashby Butnor of Metropolitan State University of Denver will be the keynote speaker. Dr. Butnor earned her doctorate in comparative philosophy and graduate certificate in advanced feminist studies at UH Manoa. Her recent scholarship focuses on embodied ethical skill and the cultivation of moral perception and action through bodily training.

The 3rd Annual Hawai'i Undergraduate Philosophy Conference is open to the public and there is no registration fee. The conference is sponsored by UH West O‘ahu, UH Manoa and Hawaii Pacific University.
