Seeds of Hope is a deeply thoughtful documentary that frames present day struggles over food security, access to land and water within the historical context of Hawai'i's changing food landscapes - from the self-sustaining abundance of the traditional ahupua'a to the legacy of the plantations and the housing subdivisions that have sprouted up in their place. The film also asks what broader changes we need to make together in order to support flourishing local agricultural communities once again. www.seedsofhopethemovie.org

"Practicing ‘āina momona" - we are asking all of you to bring food or plants or seeds to share and swap. No money, instead we are practicing a different kind of wealth and abundance!

This event is co-sponsored by Native Voices, UHM Creative Writing, and Oceania Rising

Food(+) is a student hui working to build knowledge of all the work UHM students are already engaged in about our food systems, connect the campus to the community, and increase dialogue among all fields of study.
