November 13, 3:00pm - 4:00pm
Manoa Campus, Wist Hall Room 233 Add to Calendar

This presentation will provide an overview of a study conducted to explore mental health inpatient care for people with intellectual disabilities from the perspectives and experiences of (1) people with intellectual disability (2) carers and (3) nurses. An Appreciative Inquiry methodology was used to interview participants from each of the three groups. Initial analysis is being undertaken with data from each cohort before being amalgamated to explore the combined voices of the three parties to the healthcare relationship.

Chris Taua is a PhD Candidate at the University of Queensland and a Principal Lecturer in the Department of Nursing and Human services at the Christchurch Polytechnic Institute of Technology in Aotearoa/NZ.
