Dr. Arase will address the security, political, economic, and cultural dimensions of the bilateral relationship between China and Japan in the context of East Asia and the entire global community. The current tension in the non-economic dimensions of the relationship are having wide-ranging implications for managing peace and stability in Northeast Asia, in the broader Asian region as a whole, in the management of global issues, and in the evolution of global norms.
