Honoring the Partnership Between University and Community
Establishing and developing partnerships between university and community can be challenging. This lecture will seek to assist faculty in establishing genuine community-campus partnerships and outline strategies to avoid conflict.
Guest Speaker: Maile Taualii, Chair of Native Hawaiian and Indigenous Health
As a case example, Dr. Taualii will provide an historical account of Hanson’s Disease to illuminate pitfalls and problems to avoid. She will outline practices of cultural safety, a self-awareness strategy to assist
faculty in better serving community.
