Vegan Chef Dining Takeover Day 1

April 18, 4:30pm - 8:00pm
Mānoa Campus, Hale Aloha Cafe Add to Calendar

Featuring exciting new plant-based meal concepts at dining halls in University of Hawai‘i to celebrate Earth Week 2017.

The University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa Dining Services staff are partnering with the Food & Nutrition team at The Humane Society of the United States to bring delicious and healthy plant-based meals to students, staff, and the UH community.

This two-day culinary collaboration will educate foodservice professionals and students about plant-based, cost-effective, sustainable foods. Chefs, cooks and culinary professionals will receive education and direction by Chef Wanda White, former Executive Operations Chef at the University of North Texas who opened the nation’s first vegan dining hall, Mean Greens. Chef Wanda will guide dining services staff in preparing delicious meat, egg, and dairy-free entrees and desserts that will appeal to guests of all dietary preferences.

Chef Wanda will also be available to meet and mingle with students throughout the event to answer any questions about the delicious meatless food she and the Manoa Dining staff prepare.

Enjoy an “All Your Care to Eat” buffet of Vegan entrées (see menu below), salad and dessert for just $12.50 at Hale Aloha. We accept credit cards, meal swipes, Dining Dollars and cash.
