The Indo-Pacific is the epicenter of US-China competition. This competition plays out over domains and dimensions ranging from the military to institutions to narratives. This presentation examines the core strengths and shortcomings of the United States in the ongoing competition, including the status of U.S. relations with regional allies and partners. It offers a perspective on what priorities should animate U.S. regional policy in the years ahead.
Satu Limaye is Vice President of the East-West Center and the Director of the East-West Center in Washington where he created and now directs the Asia Matters for America initiative and is the founding editor of the Asia Pacific Bulletin. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), Johns Hopkins University.
