Synopsis: A chance meeting between fashion designer Petra and aspiring model Karin leads to a torrid and ultimately toxic affair where power dynamics shift, and emotional terrorism flows freely. Petra Von Kant is a masterpiece by queer New German Cinema and theatre icon Rainer Werner Fassbinder influenced heavily by American Melodramas (especially the films of Douglas Sirk) and with a wicked sense of camp the script trades barbs that wound and wow alike.

The Production is set in early 1980’s and is imbued through and through with punk rock and underground club culture aesthetics, from the trendy artist’s loft to the fabulously over the top fashions.

All roles originally written for women, some roles listed in this production are open to gender nonconforming, trans, or non-binary actors or drag performers (the role of Valerie Von Kant specifically preferred).
