East-West Center Holiday Craft Fair 2009

The East-West Center (EWC) will host its annual Holiday Craft Fair on Dec. 3 and 4 from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. in front of the EWC's John Burns Hall, 1601 East-West Road (corner of Dole Street and East-West Road). Limited parking is available on the lawn next to Burns Hall for $4.00. Items for sale at the fair include Asia-Pacific handicrafts, homemade stationary, hand-crafted jewelry and glassware, koa boxes, Bonsai trees, Kokeshi dolls, ceramics, local snacks and more. UH Symphony Orchestra

Neal Blaisdell Concert Hall

Henry Miyamura, conductor A Musical R & R - Rossini and Respighi. Hear Rossini's Barber of Seville Overture and Respighi's orchestral masterpiece The Pines of Rome come to life under Maestro Miyamura's baton as the UH Symphony Orchestra presents their fall performance. Also on the program are La Boutique Fantasque, which Respighi wrote based upon piano pieces by Rossini, and Rossini's Una Voce from Barber of Seville, with guest soloist soprano Rachel Schutz.
