The Captive

March 11, 2005 - March 12, 2005
Mānoa Campus, Kennedy Theatre

By Matthew G. Lewis, Directed by Frank Episale, March 5, 11, 12 at 11pm & March 6 at 8pm *post-show rap March 11. Director Episale uses the text of an 1800's monodrama (play with one actor) and masked guards to depict the now iconic scenes of brutality from the Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq. The gothic script features a woman held captive in a mental institution; the imprisonment forces her to the limits of sanity. Current, edgy, political and topical - this performance is sure to spark discussion. Tickets on sale at the door one hour before curtain. $8 Regular, $7 Seniors, Military, UH Faculty/Staff, Non-UHM Students, $3 UHM Students with Validated Spring 05 UHM ID
