FUTURE CARS by Paul MacCready, Aerovironment. At long, long last the U.S. is realizing the need to cease using fossil fuel (which releases CO2, is a source for world weather changes, and constitutes an expensive and vanishing resource). For personal transportation in Hawaii, the best (most efficient and least expensive) solution appears to be battery power or battery-hybrid power, used in powering very efficient vehicles.
