EQUUS
April 22, 8:00pm - 10:15pmKapi'olani Campus, Kapi‘olani Community College
The Kapi‘olani Community College and the University of Hawai‘i at Manoa Department of Theatre & Dance present EQUUS, the award winning play by Peter Shaffer.
Directed by UHM MFA candidate Jessica Jacob with a Kapi‘olani drama student cast, this highly stylized play searches the mind of a young man, Alan Strang, accused of violence at a horse stable. Psychiatry, religion and sex collide in a landscape of dissatisfaction, yearning and denial. Rather than curing his patient, the psychiatrist is infected by Strang's obsession.
Due to graphic content and language, Equus is recommended for mature audiences only. Children under 10 will not be admitted and parental discretion is advised.
Admission is $5 at the door-Maile Performing Arts Theatre on Kapi‘olani Community College's campus at the corner of Kilauea and Makapu'u Avenue. Parking is free.
Ticket Information
$5.00 at the door. Seating begins 30 minutes before curtain.
