English Colloquium: Stephen Sutherland

"Ecstatic Revision: Adrienne Rich and the Writer as Ventriloquist"
Stephen Sutherland focuses on composition studies and its relation to critical theory in other fields, examining more specifically how composition theory revises and cites work in cultural studies, literature, and education. His essays appear in Resources for Teaching ‘Ways of Reading’” (2002) and the forthcoming collection Challenging Academic Literacies: Repositioning Identities in the University, and he is the co-author of Writing with Internet Sources. Stephen Sutherland has a PhD from the University of Pittsburgh and is currently the Assistant Director of the Harvard Writing Program. Courses he has taught include Effective Writing, The Contemporary Essay, The Essay: Writing as Travel, Theory and Practice of College Composition, and Images and Words.
