"The Ocean Blue: The Healing Sea"- Produced by BBC United Kingdom 1995, 53 minutes long. This film focuses on why some ocean life may be necessary to the survival of humans. The viewer learns how certain chemicals from the simplest of organisms that live in the sea are being used for pharmaceuticals and are being studied to find cures for some diseases. "Ocean Origins"- Directed by Gerald Calderon. USA 2002, 40 minutes long. This documentary explores the natural world of the sea, from the single-celled organism to more complex forms of life. It examines the process of evolution by looking at the many creatures of the sea that can illustrate the way multi-cellular life emerged over the course of four billion years. Originally filmed in the IMAX large format, which adds a crispness and clarity to the images, its fascinating footage looks at scientific theories and principles in an arresting manner.
