Hawai'i Bibliovision
April 3, 8:00pm - 9:00pmOlelo 55
The April 2007 episode of Hawai'i Bibliovision focuses on a reading by two critically-acclaimed South Asian poets: Vijay Seshadri and Mohit Prasad. Seshadri lives in New York and teaches at Sarah Lawrence College. He is the author of The Long Meadow (2005) and Wild Kingdom (1996). Mohit Prasad teaches at the University of the South Pacific in Fiji. His poetry collections include Eyes of the Mask (1998), and Eating Mangoes (2001) and A History of Soccer in Fiji (1998).
The reading, featured on this episode of Hawai'i Bibliovision, was part of the 23rd Annual Symposium of the Center for South Asian Studies (spring 2006). CSAS, consisting of educators from across the humanities at UH-Manoa, is dedicated to deepening our understanding of South Asia—India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bhutan and Afghanistan—and the significant contributions of these cultures to the rest of the world.
