Hawai'i, the UN, Violations of International Law, and the Way Forward

Kanaka Maoli, the US and International Law: Hawai'i, the UN, Violations of International Law, and the Way Forward. The last of four symposiums with Mililani Trask, Esq., will trace the history of Hawai'i in the UN, it will cover recently filed briefs under the International Covenants on Civil and Political Rights to which the US is a signatory, and claims advanced by Hawaiians and Alaskan Natives against the US under the ICCPR. It will consider processes and procedures for Hawaiian nation building and how self-determination can be used as a process for conflict resolution. It will cover "reconciliation" as a framework for nation building.
