Indigenous Voices in Social Work: Not Lost in Translation

The purpose of this conference is to question and explore traditional social work practices and affirm the importance of indigenous and cultural processes in reshaping research, education, and helping practices in general. Participants and presenters will come from such varied places as neighbor Hawaiian islands, Aotearoa, North America, Canada, Africa, Guam, Papua New Guinea, the Philippines, Fiji and others. Speakers include Nainoa Thompson, Poka Laenui, Haunani Apoliona and others.
