Sakamaki Lecture Series: Broken Heart Syndrome in Hawai'i
June 28, 7:00pm - 9:00pmManoa Campus, Yukiyoshi Room, Krauss Hall 012
Broken Heart Syndrome in Hawai'i with Stephen Chun. Broken hearts abound in lore and literature and we've all heard stories of lovers or who lose their partner and very soon thereafter die themselves, presumably of a broken heart.
It turns out that "broken heart syndrome" is a real medical condition that was first recognized in the USA in 2004 and first documented in Hawai'i in 2007.
This lecture will discuss the clinical manifestations, pathogenesis, prognosis, and emotional aspects of the syndrome.
