Albert Wendt and Young Poets Lift the Hale --
Hawai’i Bibliovision in December features a rare event: Albert Wendt and new talent from the Graduate Program in the Department of English reading from their original work.
Professor Wendt has been Distinguished Writer in Residence since Fall 2004 and will continue as Citizens' Chair through 2008.
Albert Wendt is the author of six novels, three collections of short stories, four volumes of poetry and a play. Leaves of the Banyan Tree won the New Zealand Wattie Book of the Year Award, and is considered a classic of Pacific literature. His work has been translated into many languages and has received many prestigious awards. Please visit www.english.hawaii.edu for additional information on Professor Wendt’s work.

After this show, Hawai’i Bibliovision will be on a one-month hiatus until February of 2008, when Bibliovision will showcase Juliana Spahr, scholar and critically acclaimed poet.
