New Physics and Future Experiments and Observations
February 28, 3:30pm - 4:30pmManoa Campus, Watanabe Hall, Rm. 112
The Department of Physics and Astronomy Colloquium: Dr. Nobuchika Okada, KEK, Japan, to speak on "New Physics and Future Experiments and Observations."
Abstract:
Although the Standard Model of elementary particle physics has been in excellent agreement with almost of all current experiments, we believe the existence of New Physics beyond the Standard Model from several theoretical and experimental points of view. In this talk, I will first introduce a few typical New Physics models and show their various phenomenological aspects from high energy collider physics to cosmology and astrophysics. I will discuss the possibility to discover New Physics in future collider experiments and cosmological and astrophysical observations.
