The March episode of Hawai'i Bibliovision features world-renowned authors of an international symposium called “Translation: Theory, Practice, Trope” (January 22-23, 2007). Organizers Cristina Bacchilega, Susan Schultz and S. Shankar sought to initiate a debate about translation that was attentive to our location in Hawai’i at the same time that it brought together perspectives from a variety of cultures and disciplines.
This episode of Hawai'i Bibliovision spotlights a special event of this symposium called “Reading in Other Words: A Literary Event”. Authors featured in this episode: Puakea Nogelmeier, Kamaoli Kuwada, Noelani Losch, Hosam Aboul-Ela, S. Shankar, Robert Sullivan, Reina Whaitiri, Susan Schultz, Tiare Pickard, and Yunte Huang.
