Kahekili

Said to be Kamehameha the Great’s father, Kahekili was a great warrior and crafty politician who became the de facto ruler of all but the Big Island. Kumu hula Hōkūlani Holt and four Maui hālau have collaborated to create a hula drama about Kahekili employing traditional styling and formats that existed during the Maui chief’s lifetime, including marriage, ‘awa ceremonies and chiefly practices.
$25 adults/$21 students, seniors, military
